Flash Photography… allowed?

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving:] I went out on the porch with my dog, Pearl, for three seconds (because it's absolutely, completely freezing!!) to check out the cool pink sunset, and i decided, what the heck, i'll use the flash on my camera, because i never do. because i think, as a general rule, flashes ruin photos… but, i kinda like these few shots? hmmm. i'm still a little unsure. but i think maybe that i'll start experimenting/using flash a little more often. we'll see.

Mirrored

Two mirrors. Two open laptops (holding up the mirrors). A recycled flower from an arrangement that was about to be tossed out. A piece of my little sis's scrapbook paper. Direct afternoon sun. Hmmmm… i think these turned out pretty cool:]

Ok so I didn't edit the color at all… I think that the first pic is my favorite:)) It makes me happy.

Plums&Pears

7 out of 72 photos of plums and pears that i took this afternoon… i have no idea why i took so stinking many lol. most of them didn't turn out that great, but i think these are the best of the [ridiculously large] bunch. LOVE the combo of shapes/colors. i experimented with loads of manual settings, and also moved the subject around in different lighting to get the different shadows… hmmm i've never really worked with still life like this, so let me know what you think!
